Burgos New York DantzCidanz Producciones
Cidanz Producciones presents three award-winning dance pieces from the International Choreography Competition CICBUNY 2025: Steady Hands by Fonsi López, Olvídame by Compagnia Bellanda and Push and Pull by Lai Hung-Chung.
Steady Hands, Fonsi López
Steady Hands is the reflection of a visceral meeting between two nameless bodies, trapped in an inevitable duel, woven by attachment and the urge to belong. In each movement their egos rub against and confront one another, strip naked, giving way to questions that beat in silence: "who am I when I am alone? am I true to who I am? how much does solitude frighten me?".
Choreography: Fonsi López. Dancers: Kino Luque, Paula Fernández.
Olvídame, Compagnia Bellanda
The duo in Olvídame (Forget me) use the truth of the body to the detriment of eloquence, in an atmosphere between watchfulness and hallucination, leaving doubts hanging as to their limits. The characters are deprived of many words but furnished with a latent aggressiveness, approaching aphasia, its muffled disturbance exuding from the body, and the truth of the role necessarily emerging from within.
Choreography: Giovanni Gava Leonarduzzi, Lia Claudia Latini (Compagnia Bellanda). Dancers: Giovanni Gava Leonarduzzi, Lia Claudia Latini.
Push and Pull, Lai Hung-Chung
Push and Pull explores the contradiction between control and delivery, examining how bodies navigate between resistance and acceptance. Balance is not quietude; it is a continuous negotiation within opposing forces that exist both between individuals and within ourselves.
Choreography: Lai Hung-Chung. Dancers: Wu Shin-Jie, Chiu Po-Sheng.
